When creating a new VPG, you have the option of enabling or disabling the Use Internet Gateway option. When enabled, all Air SIMs attached to the VPG will be able to access the Internet. When disabled, all Air SIMs will not.
You can disable the Use Internet Gateway option in order to create a complete private network for your Air SIMs. You can then use SORACOM Canal, Direct, Door, or Gate to connect your Air SIMs to your own private network.
If your VPG is created with the Use Internet Gateway option disabled, none of the Air SIMs attached to the VPG will be able to access the Internet.
Although the Use Internet Gateway option applies to the VPG and therefore affects all Air SIMs attached to it, you can control Internet access in the following method:
- Create two VPGs: one with the Use Internet Gateway option enabled, and the other with it disabled
- Create two Groups, and attach one group to the first VPG, and the other group to the second VPG
You can then assign the first group to Air SIMs where you want Internet access to be enabled, and likewise with the second group for Air SIMs where you want Internet access disabled.
