APN stands for Access Point Name, and is the connection point that allows your device to send and receive data.
When using a SORACOM Air SIM, your device must be configured to use the following APN settings:
- Name - any name you choose
-
APN -
soracom.io
-
Username -
sora
-
Password -
sora
-
PDP Type -
IP
-
Authentication Type -
CHAP or PAP
NOTE: only when you use plan-DU subscription, the APN is du.soracom.io
.
When a device uses a Soracom SIM to connect to a cellular network, Soracom will authenticate the device using credentials that are stored inside the SIM. Therefore the only APN field that is required is "soracom.io". Soracom provides these other settings in order to support devices that do not allow these settings to be omitted. If an authentication type is selected in the device APN settings the username and password fields should be entered as well.
Please refer to the SORACOM Air Getting Started guide for more information.
