For Air SIM for Japan (plan-D)
Resizing or replacing may be requested and will incur a fee according to the administrative fee stated in SORACOM Japan agreement. Please contact support if you would like to request a replacement.
Please note: if you do not have a specific need such as retaining your MSISDN (phone number), purchasing a new Air SIM will be cheaper and faster. Therefore we recommend purchasing a new Air SIM and discarding the old one.
Depending on the number of SIMs, purchasing from Amazon will reduce the total cost including shipping, compared to purchasing from the User Console. If ordering less than 3 SIMs, Amazon will be also cheaper even with the shipping cost included.
If you need to replace your Air SIM, please pay attention to the following process. The number of days required to process your request will depend on the addressee, but please expect 1 to 2 weeks for the replacement to arrive:
- Please contact us from Support Center to request a resize/replacement of your Air SIM, and indicate the IMSI (located in the SIM Management section of the User Console, under SIM details).
- We will issue a new Air SIM. Once the new Air SIM is issued, your old Air SIM will stop working immediately.
- We will ship your replacement Air SIM
- Please return your old SIM to SORACOM following these instructions.
Please note: Once a replacement Air SIM is issued, the old SIM can no longer be used. Additionally, as the administrative process above requires processing time, you may be unable to use your Air SIM for some duration. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please note: Air SIM for Global comes pre-cut into three sizes: mini/standard, micro, and nano. You can select the SIM size by simply popping the desired size from the original card by hand. Please be careful and make sure you cut it to the size that your device requires.
Pictured below are nano, micro, and mini/standard (from left to right):
- For nano, pop out the SIM card from the very left.
- For micro, pop out the SIM card including the middle plastic frame.
- For mini/standard, pop out the larger plastic from from the original card.
If you accidentally removed a SIM size that is too small for your device and wish to use the plastic frame to adjust the size, please be extra careful when inserting or removing the SIM as the plastic frames can easily come off and become stuck inside the device, and will potentially cause damage. Please use an appropriate SIM adapter. A SORACOM SIM adapter is also available on Amazon.
Please note: This type of SIM adapter is intended only for temporary use. Whenever possible, please cut the SIM to the correct size your device requires in order to avoid issues.
