This FAQ covers the possible causes of credit card payment failures.
For privacy reasons, Soracom is never given information on the root cause of payment failures by our payment partners. Some common reasons include:
- Your credit card has expired.
- Your credit card limit has been exceeded.
- Your credit card company has placed a security lock on your credit card.
However, in all situations, you will need to contact your credit card company for the exact root cause of the failure. In the past, there have been cases where monthly payments of the Soracom platform usage fee was successful as they are recurring payments, but the purchase of SIMs and devices failed as one time payments.
When contacting your credit card company, it is best to inform them of the date and amount of the payment.
Also, please refer to the following FAQ for how to reactivate your credit card after the root cause is identified.
What should I do if I cannot make a payment due to credit card expiration or limit?
