You can generally terminate a Virtual Private Gateway (VPG) directly through the Soracom User Console. However, specific prerequisites must be met before termination is possible, and VPGs with dedicated line connections (Soracom Direct or Soracom Door) require additional steps.
Prerequisites
Before you can terminate a VPG, you must ensure the following:
- Dissociate SIMs: All SIMs associated with the VPG must be dissociated. This is typically done by removing the VPG settings from the SIM Group or removing the SIMs from the Group associated with the VPG.
- Delete Active Sessions: All active sessions using the VPG must be closed. You can do this by taking the SIMs offline or deleting the sessions via the User Console.
Terminating a VPG via User Console
For standard VPGs that do not use dedicated line connections, follow these steps:
- Login to the User Console.
- Open the VPG screen from the Menu.
- Click the name of the VPG you want to terminate to enter its configuration page.
- Click the Terminate button.
VPGs with Soracom Direct or Soracom Door
If your VPG is connected via Soracom Direct (dedicated leased line) or Soracom Door (VPN), you cannot terminate the VPG immediately. You must first request that the dedicated lines be detached.
Please submit a request to Soracom Support with the following details:
- Inquiry Category: I have a question about technical specifications or usage
- Subject: Detach dedicated line connection from VPG
-
Description: Please specify that you wish to detach the dedicated lines to proceed with VPG termination. Include the following information:
- VPG ID
- Service Name (Specify Soracom Direct or Soracom Door)
Once the support team has confirmed the detachment of the dedicated lines, you can proceed with the standard termination steps listed above.
