The Custom DNS option allows you to control the default DNS server settings for your IoT SIM devices. However, if your device has its own manually configured DNS server settings, those local settings will typically override the Custom DNS settings specified in the User Console.
If your device is not using your Custom DNS settings as expected, please check the network settings on the device itself. Ensure that the network interface is configured to automatically obtain DNS configuration (often via DHCP) rather than using a static DNS address.
Note: If your device has an active session when you apply the changes, it will continue to use the existing DNS settings. You must disconnect and reconnect the session for the device to receive the new Custom DNS settings. You can do this by:
- Rebooting the device.
- Disabling and re-enabling the cellular network adapter.
- Terminating the session from the User Console.
For more information, please refer to the Custom DNS documentation.
