To manage a specific chip SIM (often referred to as an eSIM or MFF2 SIM), you must first match the physical hardware with its corresponding record in the Soracom User Console. This process involves finding the Integrated Circuit Card Identifier (ICCID) printed on the SIM or its packaging and matching it to the SIM ID in the console.
Step 1: Locate the ICCID on the Hardware
The location of the ICCID depends on how your SIMs were packaged:
- Individual Units or Boxes: The ICCID is printed on a label on the outer packaging or the box that the device or SIM came in.
- Reels: The label on a reel's packaging typically lists only the First and Last ICCIDs in the sequence. To identify a specific SIM from the middle of a reel, you must find the ICCID printed directly on the surface of the SIM chip itself.
Step 2: Find the SIM in the User Console
Once you have the physical SIM's ICCID, you can find its record in the console.
- Log in to the Soracom User Console.
- Navigate to the SIM Management screen.
- Compare the ICCID you located with the values in the SIM ID column.
For most Soracom IoT SIMs, the SIM ID directly corresponds to the 19-digit ICCID. However, for other types, such as eUICC-compatible SIMs, the SIM ID may differ. For a detailed explanation, please refer to the SIM ID documentation.
After matching the SIM, you can proceed with registration and configuration. For more information, see the SIM Registration documentation.
